Kurt Kohlstedt

Kurt Kohlstedt has written and produced print stories and audio episodes at 99pi for over a decade. He co-authored The 99% Invisible City, a critically acclaimed field guide to the hidden world of everyday design, with show host Roman Mars. Recent work includes the twelve-part multimedia Adapt or Design project.

Kurt studied philosophy at Carleton College before pursuing a graduate degree in architecture at the University of Washington, Seattle. He also launched and grew four popular design publications, including WebUrbanist, which have reached hundreds of millions of visitors. And he likes to tweet about urbanism, architecture, and raccoons.
